Eliot Church is governed by its members. They have the final voice in any and all matters.

Members hold an Annual Meeting in January to elect officers and transact business. Other meetings may be called by the Clerk, Moderator, or any seven members if special need arises.

The Pastor is the presiding officer and spiritual leader and director of the church. 

The Moderator acts as a counselor and advisor in various aspects of the Chuch's life and is ex-officio on all its bodies, boards and auxiliaries except the Diaconate.

The Church Council conducts church business between annual meetings. The Council meets each 3rd Saturday evening. Voting members of the Council are the Elected Officials, Deacons, Trustees, Heads of all church organizations, and twelve "at large" members. Any member may attend Council meetings.

Deacons shall support the Pastor in spiritual oversight of the congregation. The Board includes twelve members, each serving a three year term. Four are elected and four leave the Board each year.

The Trustees are responsible for the financial affairs of the church and preservaton of the facility. There are twelve Trustees, each of whom serves a three year term. Four are elected and four leave the Board each year.

The Church Clerk records the minutes of all official church meetings and applies the church seal to make documents official.

The Church Treasurer is a bonded official who receives and distributes church funds and prepares financial reports.
