The Eliot Church Building is divided into four parts and four levels. Part of your introduction to the Church will be a tour of the building,. The Sanctuary: This was the original church building but was used as the gym when the new Sanctuary was built. ' It has 32 pews downstairs, 15 pews in the balcony and four pews in the choir loft, Each pew seats 10-12 people comfortably. The Chancel Organ, which is valued at $300,000, adds rich music to our worship. The Rose Window above the chancel and the three windows in the balcony are registered Tiffany windows.
The Parsonage: The rear of the building has three levels and is often called the ''Parsonage". The downstairs area housed the Pastor's Study, the Church Offices, and the Parlor, which is used for special meetings. The lower level below the parsonage is used for the classrooms and the youth room. On the second level is Immanuel Hall which is used for classrooms and other activities.
The Educational Building: This is the largest area of the building. The ground level includes a kitchen and Adams Hall (where Coffee Hour is held). It also houses offices for the trustees, deacons, and Hospitality Committee, The second level includes a kitchen, library, the Sunday School and After School program offices and Hubbard Hall which is used for large gatherings. Hubbard has a fully equipped stage as well as three classrooms. An additional five classrooms are located on the third level.
The Gymnasium: Adjacent to the Educational Building is the area that was originally the New Sanctuary, Following a fire in 1929, it was converted to a gymnasium on the second level and a chapel on the first level. The chapel has two classrooms and is now used for the Preschool Program. Above this area is the Church bell and tower. The basement of this area and the Sanctuary houses the furnace and heating system as well as a largely unused storage area.
