Once you become a Christian, you
begin a process of growth that continues for the rest of your
life. Just as you are not fully mature at yow natural birth,
so you are not fully mature when you are born again.
To become a better Christian, there are several important
steps that you must take. You should follow these steps because
God wants you to enjoy the very best possible life.
You must depend on God. It is the power of God within you
that produces a better person. (Read Zechariah4:6 and Phillipians
1:6)
You must desire to be a better person. Make it your goal in
life to be the kind of person (pod wants you to be. (Philippians
3:14 and II Peter 3:18)
You must set aside a time to pray each day. When we pray,
we draw upon God as a resource to face the problems of life,
(Luke 18:1 and Matthew 7:7)
You must take time each day to read your Bible. It is through
the Bible that God speaks to you and directs your life. (I
Peter 2:2 and II Timothy 3:16)
You must obey what you know to be right. Most of the time
we know right from wrong. The task is to obey and do the right.
(James I:22 and I Samuel 15:22)
Do not be discouraged if you do things that are wrong. Just
confess your faults to God and believe that God forgives you,
(I John 1:9)
Remember that God's criterion of a good Christian is how you
treat other people. You should love others as God has loved
you. (Matthew 22:39 and John 13:35)
